Jessica was never an athlete and she hated gym class as a kid.  She found fitness after graduating from college, in her first year as and ultrasound technologist.  She realized her unhealthy lifestyle of fast food and lack of exercise were taking a toll on her body and her work.  She hired a personal trainer and fell in love with strength training and the confidence it created.  However, it led to years of counting calories, an endless cycle of restricting and bingeing, and feeling overwhelmed by fitness and nutrition.  She has since learned to listen to her body and now takes a more mindful and purposeful approach to eating and exercise.  She became a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach so that she can help others feel more confident and improve their lifestyle without feeling deprived or exhausted.

Jessica loves hiking, reading, traveling, the ocean, and listening to music.  She lives in Portland with her husband, a snuggly cat, and a clumsy German Shepherd.  She could probably eat pizza every day (but doesn't).  And she'll eat almost anything if it has Frank's Red Hot on it.  Except for hard-boiled eggs.  Get those out of here.
